How to Walk in The Spirit? - Gal 5:16 - God Bless
Praise the Lord Sudhan…
I hope all is well….…. Psalms 138:8, 2 Cor 12:9
This article was prompted by a conversation I had with Josh Anderson your American counterpart; whom I met in the wedding…(last Friday)
The tall lad had asked me about…
How to walk in the Spirit?
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.
Gal 5:16
That was something really transparent and genuine.. (I love the Americans… For they say “No” when we should say “No”.. not like Indians J… We pretend, avoid and end up with maybe… J.. hahahaha… )
And I want you to share this article with Josh and Luke…
I would like to narrate a last evening event.. for explaining the ways and works of the Holy Spirit…Acts 26:19
The Whole event revolves in listening to the Holy Ghost and moving on where He wants to….
Our Lord called me after my quiet time to move to Spencer’s… For I had no plans of shopping and I was at rest….
I really don’t know why He wants me to go there.. But I stepped out to the place by a stroll of hope…. Phil 1:6
I reached the spot… and stepped into the Super Market.. Hoping to see the Will and Purpose.. He had asked me to come for….
I had no idea of my own… what to buy or whom to meet…
I had a deep scan of the people’s presence and headed towards the end of the store …
As I reached the end of it; I started singing the Gospel in a little hum…. That the person who I standby or crossby would hear….
I was doing it for 20 mins.. And I started picking some stuffs Parallely…. (My Favorite Moong Dal, Milkova, Oranges etc..)
Now.. I said to myself… May be that’s it.. And I went to the billing counter….
And I found a guy with his trendy shirt and trousers before me paying his bill….. and I stood behind him..
I lulled the Gospel again… I wanted him to hear the Works of the Cross and the Coming Reign…
He kept on looking back and forth.. Most of the times my audience will behave that way… J
(I hope it’s not my singing… J)
And suddenly he turned and said… I am Rajesh and I am a Christian too…. I said… Oh… Praise the Lord…. J..
I felt so relaxed… And He immediately invited me to the bible study he is part of…. ( I was startled…)
I was speechless and he spoke as if he knows me well.. In every new encounter I will be the one who does the talking.. But this was different..
I kept listening and listening….And the conversation went on and on…. I learnt the Glorious Works our Lord has been doing through their fellowship…
We shared a lot about the Lord’s Work and the Need of it…
He is a Scientist.. and He shared how the Lord had used him to reach the Scientists all across the nation….
We were so glad and joyful.. encouraging and building each other….
Psalms 133:1
And finally we prayed in that road… And when we prayed.. the Onlookers are frozen…
Our Lord showered His awesome presence in that messed up trail and glorified His Name…Neh 4:14
And the lessons we learnt and the deeds of the Lord made us re-ignite our faith in Him…. (It was iron rubbing iron)
Finally he walked away knowing what the Lord has instore for Him and I walked away.. finding fulfillment in doing His will….
And that Joy nobody can give you…Neh 8:10
It’s the Obedience that draws that Joy Inexpressible….
Now I want to put it in five steps…..
Step 1: Willingness to Listen to the Spirit of God (No Strings Attached)…
Step 2: Moving to the Zones where He wants us to… Like Abe did… (It can be to a place or person)
Step 3: Waiting for the Next step..And Persevering in patience.Asking Him What’s next Lord?..
Step 4: Accepting His task as He unveils it and fulfilling it by depending on Him…
Step 5: What’s Next Lord? J…. And the Journey gets exciting..
There is a famous dialogue in the movie “ Shawshank Redemption”
“ Get Busy Living or get busy dying”
For a Christian.. it is to live in the Spirit…. Is living…..Doing what he wants to do.. And fulfilling our Life’s Purpose…
It’s not what the flesh wants to do.. but the Lord Himself…. It comes through renewal of one’s mind with the Scriptures.. Romans 12:1,2
I hope the article it gave a glimpse of it..
John 15:1,2
We find these stories strange today… But for a Christian of the First century.. it was normalcy and daily routine.. J
Apostle Paul covered the Continents of Asia and Russia in ten years…
He then said… There is no more place I left where I have to preach the Gospel…
But today we are so used up within the walls and live lives that are pretty much half-lived….
May the Lord open our eyes….
In Yeshua Name.. Amen
Shalom,
Sam Mac
