WHY DID THE SAMARITAN VILLAGE REJECT THE MESSIAH?

WHY DID THE SAMARITAN VILLAGE REJECT THE MESSIAH?
Samuel Machado

In the Chapter Four of the Gospel of John, we read the Story of the Samaritan Woman.
Down the line, we hear the whole village of Sychar both believing and accepting the LORD as the Messiah.

Later, we study in the Gospel of Luke about the rejection of the Samaritans.
The reason: The OLD Enmity with the Jews.

When they heard about the "Messiah's Journey" towards Jerusalem, they rejected Him.
The Old Hatred made them reject the LORD.

Yet! The Gracious LORD was compassionate on them.
When James and John wanted a revenge, Our LORD rebuked them.

Later in the Book of Acts, we read about the Samaritan village receiving the LORD as their Savior.
It was accomplished after the Death, Resurrection and Ascension of Christ.

And interestingly, John the Apostle went along with Peter to accomplish the mission..

Judges 6:24

Opposition from Samaritans

51 As the time drew near for him to ascend to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem. 52 He sent messengers ahead to a Samaritan village to prepare for his arrival. 53 But the people of the village did not welcome Jesus because he was on his way to Jerusalem. 54 When James and John saw this, they said to Jesus, “Lord, should we call down fire from heaven to burn them up[j]?” 55 But Jesus turned and rebuked them.[k] 56 So they went on to another village.
