THE SAMARITAN LEPER! ANOTHER EMBARRASSMENT TO THE JEWS !!!

The Story of Ten Lepers Has a Significant Role in the Gospel of Luke.
Doctor Luke had placed the story in a strategic manner to teach "Theophilus" about the Messiah.

Some of the Points we tend to Overlook:

1. The Story of Ten Lepers is not primarily about the Healing Ability or Ministry of the Messiah.

2. Doctor Luke emphasizes that the Messiah showed NO PARTIALITY among the clans.

3. Luke also stresses on the LORD's Exaltation of the Humble, through the Story.

4. Unlike the Other GOSPEL writers, Luke had a need to pen the Story of Ten Lepers.

5. Even more, Luke stresses the POINT of DISCIPLINE carried by the MESSIAH upon the JEWS who lacked light.

For Example: Let us focus on some of the background events:

1. As Lepers. Jews and Samaritans had no differences.

2. They lived in the same spot. Outside the Village.

3. When they heard about "YESHUA the Messiah", they clubbed hands to meet Him.

4. At the WORD of Christ, they left to meet the Priests.
The Samaritan went to Mount Gerizim as the JEWS traveled towards Jerusalem.

5. On realizing the Salvation, the JEWS had no "Gratitude" to return to their LORD.
Whereas, the Samaritan was humbled in the Grace of God.

The Story clearly teaches the PRIDE and PREJUDICE which ran in the Blood of the Jews.
The very reason they missed the HOLY ONE of ISRAEL, the MESSIAH they longed for.

So, Church! Are you aware of the HOLY ONE of GOD?
Will you miss Him like the JEWS did?

Judges 6:24

Ten Healed of Leprosy

11 As Jesus continued on toward Jerusalem, he reached the border between Galilee and Samaria. 12 As he entered a village there, ten men with leprosy stood at a distance, 13 crying out, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”
14 He looked at them and said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.”[b]And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy.
15 One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, “Praise God!” 16 He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for what he had done. This man was a Samaritan.
17 Jesus asked, “Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” 19 And Jesus said to the man, “Stand up and go. Your faith has healed you.[c]
