An Epistle to a New Convert
Dear Brother and Soldier in our Gracious Lord Jesus Christ, It’s a blessing to have you in the midst of us.
You are a Blessing to many in the Lord.
May you continue to prosper in all your works as your soul prospers in Christ. 3 John 1:2
1. It was nice to see your return after the Mission trip you had with your Church to Jammu and Punjab.
The one that excited me of your learning; was what you learnt at the feet of the disciple Thomas.
You learnt what every Christian should know to begin His Christian walk.
For the Crux of a Christian’s life is in his humility and submission to the Lord and to His Church.
In other words; it is a selfless Obedience truly inspired through the love of the cross.
You have learnt the most excellent and truly regarded principle of Christ. I am so glad you did it in your second year in Christ.
Philippians 2:1-15
As I was listening to you that night; I was thankful to the Lord for revealing what makes you into a totally committed disciple. For this is ignored or overlooked by many in the Christendom. For we have many Church goers, Ministry doers in the Church today. But they all serve their own appetites not Christ. They have not completely surrendered themselves to the Cross.
They are the kind of folks who preached the gospel in envy during the days of Apostle Paul. For we see Paul write about them.
We will have them even in the future too; if Christ tarries. But we should always remain watchful and faithful in the Lord and to His flock; Our Lord has appointed over us. We should pray that the Church would be revealed of this doctrine that sets them free from worthless stuffs.
But there is something more important you missed to grasp. I was praying about it. And now I wanted to write it so that many among us will also know that their need is the same. The only factor you missed to know apart from Humility and Submission is Hebrews 11:6.
The phrase “Pleasing Him” which refers to “Pleasing Christ” is extremely important for a disciple.
This is much higher. It is more than a husband pleasing his wife, a father pleasing his children.
This is the essence of a man after His heart.
The reason I caution you on these lines is to make you aware that the future rising scenarios within the Body of Christ will not be the way you have seen in the early days. When you mature, you will face new trials and challenges. As the examination levels in grade A will be lesser compared to grade C; so is the case with the Spiritual maturity. We will be tested to obey the Lord more and more. 1 Cor 10:13
So, when you are faced with the tests, always remember to seek the Lord and please Him alone.
Engrave the Scriptures; Psalms 118:8,9 and Isaiah 2:22 in your heart.
You will often find these principles will be challenged in the world we live in. And Church is no exception. We will find a lot of fleshly people in the Church too; For not all walk in the Spirit and not all want Christ glorified.
I hope you will learn this most vital elixir in the walk with Christ. Not only you; but all who desires to see him and be with Him.
It has taken me ten years to pen this vital elixir.
I have seen Grace carry me from grave dangers that arose to cut short my call and teach me these truths in the trials.
And so you will also face soul weary storms in the days ahead. James 1:2
And don’t wear yourself into the hands of man; but fall into the hands of Christ.
If you find His bosom alone as the only secured place; you have done well to count your call worthy.
May our Lord Jesus; give insight into all I write in Him. 2 Tim 2:1
Deo Gloria!
His Son in Love,
Samuel Machado
